Art lovers and artists gathered this past weekend at the Umtiza Arts festival in the Eastern Cape. The festival went underway from the 25th to the 29th of May 2022.
The festival comes years after being postponed due to Covid 19 pandemic. Local entertainers, musicians, singers and artists had the chance to showcase their talents on the big stage with a global audience.
Each day of the festival consisted of different activities catered to art lovers. Opening night was the Umtiza Africa Day Concert where artists such as Xhantu Nokwali & Seer, and Mali Soul performed.
The 26th saw the legendary Jimmy Dludlu performed at the Stirling Auditorium. On the 27th, the festival was graced by the all so talented vocalists Ami Faku and Msaki. The 28th was a day filled with Jazz as there was a Jazz picnic with Jimmy Dludlu. The 29th was the last day of the festival and it ended with a bang. The international DJ Charles Webster closed off the event at the Umtiza Jazz sessions
