The family of Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule has announced the details for her Gauteng memorial service following her passing on Monday. The service will be held on Friday, 16 August 2024, at the Assemblies of God Church in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.
Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, a celebrated radio personality, founder of the Crown Gospel Music Awards, and a beloved figure in the South African gospel community, passed away in the early hours of Monday at Netcare Parklands Hospital in Durban. Her death came after a brave battle with lung cancer, which she had been diagnosed with in May.
A distinguished career defined Mbokazi-Nkambule’s life.
Known for her influential role in gospel music through her long-running Ukhozi FM Sunday morning show and her pioneering Crown Gospel Music Awards, she touched the lives of many with her dedication to the genre.
Beyond her broadcasting achievements, she was also a prominent author, mentor, life coach, businesswoman, and a cherished wife and mother.
In honor of her remarkable contributions and to celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held in Gauteng, with the details as follows:

Mbokazi-Nkambule’s funeral service will take place the following day on Saturday, 17 August 2024, at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC). Her final resting place will be at Marianhill Cemetery in Pinetown.
