Exec. Mayor John Mpe and Tastic Rice celebrate unsung heroines

TASTIC Rice has embarked on a national campaign with 4 iconic women to celebrate and honour  unsung heroines for the month of September.

Rami Chuene, Noxolo Grootboom, PJ Powers and Dudu Khoza will each visit a region close to their heart to stimulate the communities to join them as they showcase little acts of kindness to the country at large.

This will be done through a honorary dinner and a Tastic Rice ATM that will allow members of the selected communities to come withdraw complementary Tastic rice.

On the 9th of September 2021 at Fusion Boutique Hotel, Rami Chuene anchored a felicitous event which was geared towards bringing all of the brands perfect partners – the unsung heroines of Polokwane, who play significant roles in the community to be celebrated through an honorary dinner.

Amongst the celebrated heroines was Mama Dorah who runs the Shalate Drop in centre. She has been caring for orphans and vulnerable children in Seshego township since 2006.

Tastic Rice donated R10 000.00 towards maintaining Mama Dorah’s centre which was double by the Executive Mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality, John Mpe.

Maduvha Madiba who is a proud member of this community and currently adorning our TV screens on The River was the MC of this special occasion.

Some of the attendees were  Ledile Molope The provincial head of SALGA, Chief Matsila of the Matsila Village, Tshepo Mathabatha the marketing director of WSM Leshika and many other honourable guests.

“Women have always been the heroes during difficult times, a lot has taken place in the country within the last few months. These critical times have seen us recounting stock that we had lost  but also recounting the moments of joy  that we have had with our consumers. For our 60years of Tastic we saw it befitting to spread the spirit of generosity through leading the way in showcasing little acts of kindness with our perfect partners”.

Says Thembi Sehloho Marketing Director of Pasta and Rice at Tiger Brands.

People still face numerous economic challenges in South Africa at large , for the Tastic rice brand it is important to play a role in lending a helping hand by honouring the unsung heroines of South Africa and giving back to the community as they have made Tastic Rice part of their ordinary and celebratory moments for many years.

The Tastic rice ATM in Seshego Mall on the 10th of September 2021 was able to cater to over 400 community members who came with their empty containers that needed to be replenished with rice.

“Being African means something unique and to host these celebrations during heritage month is and in the manner that we are is truly special. We hope that our campaign can encourage many others to continue leading in their own spaces as they portray extraordinary acts of kindness in propelling the country forward and bringing its people together”

continues Sehloho.

The Tastic Rice ATM will make its way to Durban , Kwa Zulu-Natal on the 17th of September. Consumers are encouraged to stay tuned to the Tastic Rice social media platforms for more information.
