Born Inga Mfenyane the 23-year-old hails from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape. Inga who lost his mother at the age of three remained in the guardian of his grandparents for most of his early childhood.
Later on, he relocated to Vosloorus a township in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng where he grew up being raised by his father and grandmother.
While in high school, Inga felt the need to pursue further in his music career while also learning the realms of working in the family business being restaurants.
Over the years in the midst of trying kick start his music career, Inga experienced some struggle operating the business with more time dedicated towards his music, that resulted in him having a dispute with his father over his priorities. He then took it upon himself to prove that he could do both being an artist and also a business man; a journey which he has found to have its own challenges and rewards.
Inga wants to share his story through music in order to inspire others, referring to his stage name Sage Impepho
“Everything I’ve learned comes from my father, his commitment to his goals, from the businesses he operates – I’ve seen him build it from the ground up and in the process, I’ve learned to apply the same attitude and hard work towards my music”.
Sage meaning a profoundly Wiseman and Impepho which is used to communicate with the ancestors and also used for cleansing

Inga exclaims.
“Azofezeka” is his first single release, in the song he talks about his dream coming into fruition despite circumstances, believing that one day he’ll succeed.
“I think I can share my story which will also inspire someone onto the next one and so on… also what I learned from the streets of Vosloorus to Sandton is a very important part of my story”.
