Farewell Set for June 14 and 15
Beloved traditional healer and public figure, Tyra Sindane — popularly known as Gogo Manzini — will be honored with a two-day funeral service beginning on Saturday, June 14, followed by her burial on Sunday, June 15.
Umgidi We Zangoma: A Night of Sacred Remembrance
On Saturday night, traditional healers will gather for a Umgidi We Zangoma, a spiritual vigil of singing and dancing that will last through the night. This sacred tradition pays homage to Gogo Manzini’s calling as a sangoma and the community she served with deep passion.
Final Resting Place: Secunda Cemetery
The official funeral will be held on Sunday in Benoni, and she will be laid to rest at Secunda Cemetery. The family has requested that all mourners come dressed in white, in keeping with spiritual customs and to honor her life in purity and peace.

Born Raymond Thabo Sindane, Gogo Manzini passed away on June 5 following a brief illness. She is remembered as a healer, friend, mother, and vibrant presence who brought light and love into every space she entered. Her dedication to spiritual wellness, community care, and traditional healing earned her widespread respect.
