About Nontokozo Mkhize
Born Nontokozo Hlengwa on 27 August 1999 in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal, Nontokozo is an Afro-soul singer and songwriter who began her musical journey in gospel choirs before stepping into the national spotlight.
She completed her Matric in 2016, studied Civil Engineering (N1 & N2) at Elangeni College, and is currently pursuing Performing Arts at KCAP Art Centre. Her professional music path began in 2017 when she joined the gospel group Levites, later performing with EThekwini Gospel Choir, The Genesis Choir, and Worship Synergy as both a backing vocalist and lead singer.
Collaborations and Career Highlights
Nontokozo has graced major stages such as the Crown Gospel Awards, Gagasi FM Christmas Carols, and the Sekwanele Tour by Naima Kay. She has collaborated with leading South African artists including Benjamin Dube, Mondli Ngcobo, Naima Kay, Dumi Mkokstad, Ayanda Ntanzi, and Khaya Mthethwa.
Most recently, she featured on Sjava’s album Isbuko on the spiritually stirring track “Thixo.”
What’s Next for Nontokozo
Currently signed under Sginci Media, Nontokozo is working on her solo album, produced by veteran producer Naxion-Cross, and is set to release her debut single later this year—promising yet another chapter in her journey of faith, artistry, and purpose.
